Knitsley Farm Shop

Knitsley Farm is a self-sufficient and sustainable unit which involves production, processing, catering and retailing, providing employment for local people. They started with the idea of providing everything you might need for a dinner party under one roof. There is now a Farm Shop/Deli, Butchery, Bakery and Cafe.

The Farm Shop sells fresh fruit and vegetables working within the seasons, and using only the best quality produce. Weardale Cheese Company and Northumberland Cheese Company supply an excellent range of cheese, complemented by a wide range of crackers and biscuits. All meat comes from the farm.

Animals are taken to a local abattoir in small numbers (3-4). A quote from their web site says:

‘We are immensely proud that we have developed many local, short supply chains and are thrilled that we stock products from over 20 small, local producers – all of whom we know personally by name!’
