Our microbrewery produces 14 different award winning real ales, all made from our own farm grown malted barley. They are produced on a working farm, and are all named after our farm animals. Our four core ales are Auld Hemp, Nel’s Best, Matfen Magic and Black Moss. We produce many fine seasonal beers including Nettle Ale, Sundancer, Ferocious Fred, Red Shep, Lily Brewster and Cyril the Magnificent. Our brewery, based in Matfen, has a visitor centre, tearoom, restaurant, lounge and shop, and outside children’s play area. We are also licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies and we sell throughout the North East, including in many pubs, restaurants and other outlets in County Durham.
