Railway Paddock Smallholding

A 3 acre smallholding growing a variety of vegetables, soft fruit and an orchard. We also fatten up a few piglets each year and a friend’s sheep help keep the grass mown on the uncultivated areas.
We use organic principles and practice and the priority in our cultivation techniques is to conserve and enhance the soil structure and fertility. We will be experimenting with more ‘no dig’ beds this year and using lots of compost and horse manure mulches.
We sell our surplus produce as ‘share of the harvest’ bags locally
